Cat ‘n Mouse Cottage is over 300 years old and has been completely renovated, making a comfortable and attractive bed and breakfast accomodation.

The cottage was recently featured in ‘DORSET’ magazine and is located in the village of Motcombe in Dorset, surrounded by lovely countryside it is easily accessible from the A303 or by train to Gillingham.

Accommodation:
(each room has a hair dryer, radio alarm, tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge)

THE ROSE ROOM

A king size half tester bed with a temper mattress. A dressing area, with trouser press, leads to an en suite bathroom which has a whirlpool bath.

THE POPPY ROOM

An antique double bed with a private bathroom next door. Guests have the use of a private sitting room down stairs.

Food:

• A ‘welcome’ home-made Dorset cream tea is served when guests check in (depending on arrival time).
• Full English breakfast, or continental breakfast which can be served in the room.
• Home- made bread, preserves, cakes and local produce are served whenever possible.
• Special dietary requirements eg gluten free and diabetic can be catered for.

Special Facilities:

• Parking is off road.
• Cyclists welcome, secure housing for bikes.
• Walkers are welcome and catered for, drying facilities for wet clothing.
  (Arrangements can be made to take walkers to the start of chosen walks and/or collect them at the end of their walk.)

Dogs are welcome, they share their owner’s bedroom (free of charge). All facilities provided including torches for those late night constitutional walks late at night in the nearby recreational field.

Location and attractions:

• There is a pub in the village which serves good evening meals.
• Many footpaths nearby, maps available for longer walks.
• Shaftesbury, famous for Gold Hill (it's steep cobbled street) is 2 miles away.
• Easy access to national trust properties including Stourhead and Kington Lacy.
• Stonehenge, Salisbury and the coastal resorts of Bournmouth, Weymouth and Poole are all within an hour’s drive.
• Beaches such as Kimmerage, Lulworth Cove, Lyme Regis and Charminster offer opportunities for fossil hunting.

Rose Room Price £37.50 pppn.
Poppy Room £32.50 pppn.
A deposit of 25% is payable to reserve the room ; the balance should be paid in full 2 weeks before the date of arrival.
For short-term bookings ( within 6 weeks of arrival date), the full amount is payable on reservation. Cheque payments only please.
